Revisit the 80s - volunteer performers wanted for "My Beautiful Laundrette"

WANTED

2 performers Friday 16 July 7pm and Saturday 17 July 2pm
Scratch 'n Sniff Cinema presents My Beautiful Laundrette.

Extrovert volunteers to participate in two unusual film screenings with a difference. Scratch 'n Sniff Cinema presents My Beautiful Laundrette will take place in a pop-up cardboard dressed cinema space inside a former shop unit THIS WEEK on Friday 16th July (7pm) and Saturday 17th July (2pm), at Hub Gallery opposite The People's History Museum in Manchester.

Event producer Bren O'Callaghan is looking for one or two volunteers to dress up and lend a hand, ideally as
a) a trashy 80s nightclub hostess and/or
b) a bedraggled laundrette assistant in housecoat and curlers.
Two friends or colleagues prepared to ham it up a bit together would be preferred. Your role would be to greet people at both screenings (the first night will include complementary detergent-inspired cocktails for all), distribute scratch 'n sniff cards, pass out retro sweets, present vintage raffle prizes and most importantly hold aloft giant numbered placards - eight in total - during key scenes in the movie. These indicate when the audience should scratch a particular number, and sniff. No knowledge of the film is required as the event producer will indicate when to do so via thumbs up and thumbs down.

Expenses will be met, food and drink provided, and a professional photographer will be taking photographs that will be yours to use in any way you wish. Unfortunately no further additional fee is available, but a good time will be had, and you will also receive a limited edition screenprint designed for the occasion as an extra thank-you.
